Here are the 5 Biggest Mistakes Reps are making that is KILLING their businesses.

These mistakes are the main reasons why Reps struggle, lose money, and end up quitting their businesses. I struggled with this for years, and was only doing what I was taught. I was on standing order tapes, and CD’s, attended every company function, purchased some more tools, got on all the conference calls, and none of it ever helped ME. I don’t even want to think of how much money I invested in all those tapes and CD’s. Long story short…..they were teaching what doesn’t work.

You know…..go out ot the Malls and get a name a day. Get on the phone and book those plans. Not so fast…..If you are like me, I hated going up to a complete stranger and bother them while they were shopping. I hated cold calling them trying to book a plan. And the Follow up? Several of my follow ups didn’t even allow me back in their home, and left my product sample case outside their door.

After a few months of getting rejected like that and I took the pedal off the metal. So, I would just realize that I have a good job with overtime anytime I want it and for the rest of the year I will be ok. But, when the new year started, I would try it again. Thats Madness! Repeating the same mistakes again!

So, here is Mistake #1 the majority of Reps are making:

1) They’re NOT Branding Themselves! (ATTRACTION MARKETING)

This is the main problem with training new people in their MLM . Their training is just like every other traditional network marketing company training. Go sign up 3 reps, help them sign up 3 reps, then help them sign up 3 reps, and continue the process. They’re taught to start with their friends, family, ANYONE and EVERYONE in their address book, and then IF they sign somebody up to start this whole process over with the new distributor and their warm market, and then they’ll become a millionaire. Bullox!

There is no value there! I’m not saying this process doesn’t work, there are some Reps making money building their business this way, but it doesn’t work for the majority of people who don’t have a HUGE warm market or who suck at sales. Remember this….that 98% of network marketers are taught this stuff and that’s the reason why they don’t stay in. Doesn’t it SUCK when you have like 10 – 20 downline who lose faith, lose interest, and they just drop off. Now you have to start all over again recruiting to replace the one’s you lost.

That is a recipe built for disaster. And you know what? Your company doesn’t even care. No MLM company cares. If they get enough people to sponsor 3 ,who sponsor 3, who sponsor 3, that company eventually will reach $1 billion in sales. It’s a numbers game to them and they know it.

People will only do business with people they KNOW, LIKE, AND TRUST.

Your company is probably a great company, but the majority of people who join don’t join because of the product, comp plan, or the founders… it’s because they found a LEADER they felt they could benefit from, someone they were attracted to, they trusted, and they wanted to get into business with THEM, NOT YOUR COMPANY! Which brings is to Mistake #2 made by the majority of Reps:

2) No REAL marketing training

Another thing I was told to do when I first got started in this industry was to post flyers in supermarkets, collect business cards, which I did for 6 months with ZERO results. They kept saying, “Just keep doing what you’re doing, and eventually people will get in.” That’s madness! Why after 6 months of posting flyers and cold calling people with zero results would I continue marketing this way?This is the type of “MARKETING” we get as brand new network marketers!

Just think for a moment how much more enjoyable it would be if you understood how to market and build a relationship first?

What if you could position yourself as a leader who holds real value?

What if you actually could solve your prospect’s problems, their wants, and needs instead of trying to pitch them and convince them why your company has the best product out there and why they should join your business after you just met them.

3) Not enough people to talk to

Eventually your warm-market will cease to exist. In fact, if you’ve called your family and friends on multiple occasions promoting different business opportunities, you won’t have any friends and family left.

I will say that if you are very SKILLED in this game you could in theory continue to get referrals from every single person you speak to regardless of whether or not they actually join the business, so in theory you could do this forever. But let’s be real…

This is extremely hard to pull off and just isn’t for everyone. And to build a HUGE ORGANIZATION, wouldn’t you say it’s smart to have multiple solutions in place so that you can have more on your team create more success?

There is a way to get people to talk using both ONLINE AND OFFLINE methods that will greatly increase the odds of you making money in this industry.

And if you set yourself up properly, you will NEVER run out of people to talk to, period. That’s IF you can hang in the game long enough to make the big bucks, which leads me to Mistake #4:

4) Not enough money to stay in the game

Let’s face it. Network marketing is a tough game at first. It’s new skills, new challenges, in a new industry. The autoship costs money. The training courses cost money. The marketing costs money. The odds are really stacked against you especially if you’re just getting started!

What if you could figure a way to make money off of EVERY single person you talked to regardless of whether or not they joined your business? Even better, what if by creating an additional income stream you actually helped educate your prospects on how to truly succeed in network marketing?

What if they actually were eager about whipping out their credit cards so that they could buy trainings, resources, and tools from YOU, you get paid, and you provide the solutions that your prospects are looking for? How do you think this could effect your primary company sign-up rate.

What if you gave your prospects EXACTLY what they were looking for up-front, with absolutely no want in return? This would help build a solid relationship FAST. This will build that trust, rapport, and be the foundation that is required BEFORE they make the jump into your business.

And in this process you could make a few hundred or even a few thousand dollars every month, which will help pay for your business expenses, and allow you to stay in the game! 5) Not believing in themselves and this industry

We’re told to “fake it til you make it.” This is NOT the way to start a relationship! I mean think about it! This is a RELATIONSHIP business, an industry where you must connect with PEOPLE!

If you try and “fake it til you make it” you’re starting the relationship off on a complete lie! You’re trying to be somebody you’re not and if your prospect is an alpha leader he will tear you apart!
